Its lands with total area of 6 thousand hectares are occupied by vineyards and gardens; part of them is planted out with wheat, rye, corn, barley, millet, sunflower, tobacco; vegetables are also grown here. There are 1.370 employees in the holding, who are engaged in agricultural and production works requiring manual and mechanized work. Special attention is paid to growing of sunflower, because APC specializes in pro-duction of seed and planting material. To this end, the holding cooperates with selection centers of the republic («Selecţia» and «Porumb»). Sunflower plantations occupy more than 500 hectares and are cultivated under modern technologies. On 700 hectares of vineyards, technical and table varieties are grown, which are accommodated to local climatic conditions and peculiarities of the soil. End products are bottled at enterprises «Cricova-Acorex» and «Wine Holding». «Valea Perjei Veche» goes on with growing tobacco (though this branch is not profitable enough) in order to provide cooperative's employees with working places. Cooperative invariably participates in different spheres of life of its members (3 thousand persons in total). It provides financial support to educational institutions (3 kindergartens, lyceum and gymnasium), social, cultural and commercial organizations; arranges summer rest of the cooperative's members (it has an own rest base at the Black Sea coast) and pupils (in the camp with 120- places); invests considerable means in improvement of Perjei Village. APC «Valea Perjei Veche» is an associ-ation, where it is well recognized that wellbeing of every its member is a pledge of prosperity of the team in whole.
